Second Prize at CTLPDX for “The Fan”

At the 2015 CTLPDX Film Festival in Portland, the short animated film “The Fan”, directed by Shirin Sohani and represented by the Independent Short Film Support Center of Iran, received the festival’s Second Best Film Award, along with an Honorary Diploma for Animation and an Honorary Diploma for Empowerment, selected from among the 21 films competing in the festival’s main section.
This short animation tells the story of an old electric fan that fears being recycled. The film previously won the Best Film Award in the “Most Beautiful Dreams” category at the 4th Khorshid Independent Short Film Festival.
The CTLPDX Film Festival, which is dedicated to empowering young people and encouraging minority participation in Portland, received 257 films from 42 countries for this edition and selected 21 short films for its main competition section.
