Among the films submitted by the Independent Short Film Support Base to the FINOW festival in Germany, three short animations — “Kargadan” (Rhinoceros) directed by Farzaneh Ghobadi, “Panke” (The Fan) directed by Shirin Sohani, and “Dystopia” directed by Hamidreza Majidi — have made it into the main competition section of this festival.
These works, distributed and presented by the Independent Short Film Support Base, are taking part in this festival as Iran’s representatives in the animation section.
It is worth noting that the FINOW festival, with the goal of opening doors for talented independent filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world — and working to expand the production and distribution of their work, discover new names, and connect them with the wider industry — will be held from February 19 to 21, 2016, in Germany.
