Six films from the Independent Short Film Support Center have been selected for the Main Competition Section of the 4th INSIGHT HALF Festival in India.
The six selected films are:
“The Doll” directed by Aboltaleb Matlabi
“Ten Villages” directed by Rahim Fakhteh Noushanagh
“The Other Limbs Cannot Remain at Ease” directed by Aboltaleb Matlabi
“Mirage” directed by Javad Pourheidari
“A Good Day” directed by Sosan Salamat
“Waves” directed by Siamak Ahmadi
The name of the festival is an acronym for “Haiku Amateur Little Film.”
“Haiku” refers to the extremely short form of Japanese poetry and, in this context, symbolizes any concise form of aesthetic creativity.
“Amateur” here means that the film was produced by a filmmaker without the intention of generating financial profit.
The alternative meaning of “amateur”—implying a lack of professional quality—does not apply in this case.
“Little” refers to the short running time of the films.
The festival is dedicated to amateur short fiction and animated films with a running time of less than five minutes.
The 4th INSIGHT HALF Festival was held on August 9 and 10, 2014, in Kerala, India.
