About the Festival: The seventh edition of the Fisura International Experimental Film and Video Festival in Mexico welcomes works by filmmakers, artists, and members of the general public from across Mexico and around the world. The festival accepts short and feature experimental works, as well as other audiovisual works, for inclusion in its program.
Awards / Recognition:Selected works will be screened as part of a touring program in Mexico. Selected filmmakers will also receive a certificate of participation and the festival’s official laurel.
Accepted Genres:Experimental Documentary, Experimental Animation, Experimental Narrative Film, Video Art, Found Footage, Video Essay, and Hybrid Works.
Runtime:
- Short Films: 1-30 minutes
- Feature Films: 31-190 minutes
Language and Subtitles:Works made in a language other than English or Spanish must have English or Spanish subtitles. However, foreign films that are not in Spanish must have Spanish subtitles in the final submitted version.

Other Information: Experimental short films are eligible for submission regardless of their year of production. The call is open to both domestic and international applicants. Each participant may submit a maximum of four films.
Filmmakers who need assistance with translation and the preparation of Spanish subtitles may use the festival’s translation services. The cost of these services is determined according to the film’s runtime, and their use is optional.
