Of the two films submitted by the Independent Short Film Support Base to the sixth edition of the INSIGHT HALF International Festival in India, the short film “Monaqeseh-ye Ashya dar Miyan-e Ashbah” (Auction of Objects Among Ghosts), directed by Hadi Jaldi, succeeded in winning the Second Place Film Award at this festival.
Of the two short films — “Pi Khabi Shayad…” (Perhaps Sleepwalking…) directed by Fariba Abazari, and “Monaqeseh-ye Ashya dar Miyan-e Ashbah” (Auction of Objects Among Ghosts) directed by Hadi Jaldi — which were the only Iranian representatives among the 84 films in the main competition section from countries including India, Serbia, Germany, Austria, Spain, Iran, and others, it was “Monaqeseh-ye Ashya dar Miyan-e Ashbah” directed by Hadi Jaldi that went on to claim the Second Place Film Award at the festival.
It is worth noting that in this edition of the festival, the Best Film award went to a film from India, while the Second Place Film awards were given to entries from India, Austria, Germany, Spain, and Iran.
The INSIGHT HALF International Festival in India welcomes very short amateur films (under 5 minutes) from around the world.
It is also worth mentioning that in 2014 and 2015 as well, 12 films from the Independent Short Film Support Base were the sole Iranian representatives at this festival, and went on to receive 2 awards and 2 honorary diplomas.
The sixth edition of the INSIGHT HALF International Festival was held on August 13 and 14, 2016, in Palakkad, in the Kerala region of India.
