Introducing the Jury of the Iranian Cinema Section at the AOF Festival, USA

The members of the jury for the Iranian Cinema section of the twelfth edition of the AOF International Festival in the United States have been announced.
According to a report by the Independent Short Film Support Base, Mahdi Yarmohammadi, Maryam Pirband, and Nabi Z have been introduced as the jury members for the Iranian Cinema section of the twelfth edition of the AOF International Festival in the United States, and are set to select and announce the winning works of the Iranian Cinema section of this festival.
Mehdi Yarmohammadi
Full member of the Documentary Filmmakers Association of the House of Cinema; filmmaker and distributor of Iranian short and documentary films; founder and director of the Independent Khorshid Film Festival and the Independent Short Film Support Base; participant in numerous domestic and international festivals with multiple awards to his name, including a United Nations Certificate of Appreciation; member of the selection and jury committees of several short film festivals in Iran; jury member at the second edition of the International Sahar Film Festival in Manchester, England; and more.
Maryam Pirband
Director, producer, and writer of more than twenty short films, documentaries, television series, and commercial and industrial films, both inside and outside Iran; participant in numerous domestic and international festivals with multiple awards; president of the jury at the Women Filmmakers Human Rights Festival; jury member and selection committee member at numerous national and international festivals, including the International Sulaymaniyah Documentary Festival, the Health Media Festival, the Salman Farsi Film Festival, the Erbil International Film Festival, and others.
Nabi Z
Director of the Foreign Films section of the Action On Film Festival in the United States; film producer and director; known for Del Weston on Film (2013), The Victims (2016), and Dr. Luciana on Aging and Falling (2015).
The Action On Film Festival in the United States is holding its twelfth edition — and for the very first time, it has dedicated a special section exclusively to Iranian films.
The festival is held with the goal of fostering meaningful and productive professional connections between filmmakers and various sectors of the film industry on a global scale, and under the festival’s rules, only works that contain absolutely no political agenda or negative portrayal of Iran are eligible to participate.
The festival extends an open invitation to all Iranian filmmakers to register their films before the remaining deadline.
The accepted films will be screened in the finest venues in California, in the Monrovia area, and as is the tradition every year, the festival catalogue will be made directly available to the world’s leading distributors.
It is worth noting that to register and submit works to this festival, completing the registration form is required, and two DVD copies of the film must be delivered — by prior arrangement — to the festival’s representative in Iran, Ms. Sara Dashti.
