“Leafless Garden” in the Main Competition of WIZ-ART

The short fiction film Leafless Garden, directed by Ghazaleh Soltani, which recently won the Students’ Choice Award at the 37th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France, has been selected as Iran’s representative in the main competition section of the WIZ-ART Festival in Ukraine.
The film, distributed by the Independent Short Film Support Platform, tells the story of a family navigating the hustle and bustle of modern-day Tehran in pursuit of their dreams.
The WIZ-ART Festival in Ukraine is a major cultural and educational event that honors the winners of its international section with awards for Best Film, Best Animation, and Best Experimental Film.
The 8th International WIZ-ART Festival will be held under the slogan “A Reason for the Future” from May 21 to May 24, 2015, in Lviv, Ukraine.
Prior to this selection, Leafless Garden had been screened at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival, the main competition section of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France, the Tehran International Short Film Festival, and the main competition section of the 4th Khorshid Independent Short Film Celebration.
