The 2015 edition of the 6th International JAGRAN Film Festival in India invited the short fiction film Leafless Garden, directed by Ghazaleh Soltani, to compete in its Best Short Films of the World 2015 section.
The film, distributed by the Independent Short Film Support Platform, tells the story of a family making their way through the hustle and bustle of contemporary Tehran in pursuit of their dreams.
So far, the film has been screened at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France, the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival, and the main competition section of the WIZ-ART International Film Festival in Ukraine. It also won the Students’ Choice Award at the 37th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
The JAGRAN Film Festival of India has announced the following screening schedule for its festival films:
July 1–5 in New Delhi
During July and September in 14 cities across India
September 22–27 in Mumbai
The Iranian short fiction film Leafless Garden has been scheduled for screening in four or five cities, with a particular focus on screenings in Mumbai.
