Recognition for the Documentary “The Earth’s Disheveled Tress” on the International Day of Peace

On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, the production of the documentary “The Earth’s Disheveled Tress” directed by Mehdi Yarmohammadi was honored at the United Nations Office.
At this conference, which focused on Takfiri terrorism and threats to peace, held on September 22 of this year, coinciding with the International Day of Peace, and attended by Gary Lewis (United Nations Resident Coordinator in Iran), Ziauddin Sabouri (Secretary of the Iranian Association of International Relations), Mr. Kanaani (Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Iraq dossier), as well as a number of university professors, researchers, and media representatives, the documentary “The Earth’s Disheveled Hair” directed by Mehdi Yarmohammadi was screened. Following the screening, the filmmaker was presented with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of the documentary’s production.
The film tells the story of the people of Ban Zardeh, a village near Sarpol-e Zahab in Iran, who were subjected to a chemical bombardment by the Iraqi army four days after the adoption of UN Resolution 598, on the day of Eid al-Adha, while they were in the midst of their holiday celebrations. Even after many years, the survivors continue to suffer from numerous hardships and lasting consequences. The documentary has so far won several awards at both national and international film festivals.
