It Is Winter Wins Best Experimental Film at ACTION ON FILM Festival

The short film It Is Winter, directed by Sepideh Mirhosseini, won the award for Best Experimental Short Film in the Iranian Cinema section of the 12th ACTION ON FILM International Festival in the United States.
Distributed and promoted by the Independent Short Film Support Platform, the film has previously received several awards, including Best Film on the theme of Respect for Humanity at the 5th Khorshid Independent Film Festival, as well as Best Film, Best Director, Best Editing, and Best Makeup at the 2nd Sahar Manchester Festival in the UK.
The film tells the story of the cold and distant relationships within a three-member family, where the son attempts to sacrifice himself in order to save them. After screening at the Khorshid Independent Film Festival, the Kimiai Free Workshop Festival, the Image of the Year Celebration, the SHORT FILM CORNER section of the Cannes Film Festival in France, the Sahar Manchester Festival in the UK, the KINOLUB Festival in Poland, and the ELCHE Festival in Spain, It Is Winter won the Best Experimental Short Film award during its fifth international appearance in the Iranian Cinema section of the ACTION ON FILM Festival in the United States.
It is worth mentioning that the ACTION ON FILM Festival is organized with the aim of creating meaningful professional connections between filmmakers and various sectors of the global film industry. According to the festival’s regulations, only films that avoid political perspectives or negative portrayals of Iran are eligible to participate.
