The International Ceramic Competition Carouge 2026 provides a unique opportunity for ceramic artists from around the world to create and showcase their creative works at an exhibition held at the Musée de Carouge in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 19 to November 29, 2026.
The theme for this edition of the competition is “Movement.” The submitted works must reflect the concept of movement in form, texture, glaze, or the overall concept of the piece. “Movement” is not limited to physical motion; it can also be an interpretation of physical, conceptual, or emotional movement.
Accepted Categories:
- Contemporary Ceramic / Ceramic Art
- Ceramic Sculptures, including both functional and artistic pieces
Required Documents:
- Completion of the online form on the organizer’s website
- Motivation letter: Explaining the connection between the proposed work and the competition theme, maximum 800 characters
- 3 to 4 digital images of the work from different angles, 300 dpi quality, JPG format, color, without the artist’s name or signature in the image
- Technical details of the work (title, technique, dimensions, etc.)
- If selected in the first stage, the physical work must be submitted between June 1 and June 15, 2026, to the address provided after the initial selection.
Conditions for Submissions:
- The work must be original and created specifically for this competition.
- The work should not have been displayed at any exhibition before September 19, 2026.
- There are no restrictions on the size and weight of the physical works, but they must be “transportable and movable.”
Prizes:
- 1st Prize: 10,000 Swiss Francs
- Bruckner Foundation Prize: 2,000 Swiss Francs
- Swiss Ceramic Association Prize: 1,000 Swiss Francs
- Audience Prize: 800 Swiss Francs, awarded by the Carouge Museum
- Schools Prize: 500 Swiss Francs, awarded by the Carouge Museum
- Selected works will be featured in the official 2026 catalog and displayed at the Carouge Museum for 70 days, from September 19 to November 29, 2026.

- The cost of sending the original work after selection in the first stage is the responsibility of the participant.
