About the Festival: This festival is a major and distinguished event in the field of children’s cinema, comprising one week of film screenings alongside a series of educational and entertaining activities. These programs provide children with the opportunity to become acquainted with the art of filmmaking and to share this experience with other children and their families. The festival is committed to nurturing and expanding the next generation of cinema audiences, as its organizers believe that art plays a fundamental role in building a more just and inclusive society.

Themes and Focus: Children and family audiences

Awards: The official jury, composed of filmmakers, journalists, educators, and cultural figures, will select one winner in the feature and medium-length film competition. A second jury, made up of children who have taken part in the CINI program’s “Young Cinema Audiences” workshops, will select one winner in the short film competition. In addition, the following awards will also be presented:

Audience Award for the feature and medium-length film competition

Special cash prize for the Best Peruvian Short Film in competition, selected by the official jury

Best Peruvian Short Film Award: USD 500 (five hundred US dollars)

Accepted Genres: Fiction, Animation, Documentary

Running Time: This festival includes two competitive sections:

Feature and medium-length film competition: for works over 30 minutes

Short film competition: for works under 30 minutes

Year of Production: Films must have been completed no more than two years prior to submission.

Language and Subtitles:For the feature and medium-length film competition, the screening copy must be in Spanish or dubbed into Spanish.For the short film competition, the screening copy must be in Spanish, dubbed into Spanish, or include Spanish subtitles.

Submission Deadline: October 16, 2026

Additional Notes: Films of any nationality may participate in this festival, provided that they have not previously been publicly screened in Peru.
