The Best Dialogue-Free Film Award at the 15th LUCANIA Festival in Italy was awarded to the short film “Must Black”, directed by Baran Sarmad, from the Independent Short Film Support Platform.
This film, which is Baran Sarmad’s debut work and is being distributed by the Independent Short Film Support Platform, had previously been selected for the competition section of the 1st Erbil International Film Festival in Iraq and is also screening in the main competition section of the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival in Spain.
In addition, the Best Short Film Screenplay Award in this section was presented to the short film “Theft”, directed by Mohammad Farahani, another representative from Iran.
The festival featured short fiction, documentary, and animated films produced after August 2011 and with a running time of under 30 minutes.
The 15th LUCANIA Festival was held in Lucania, Italy, from August 10 to August 13, 2014.
