Two Awards for the Independent Short Film Support Center at INSIGHT HALF

Among the six films represented by the Independent Short Film Support Center that were selected for the main competition of the 4th INSIGHT HALF Festival in India, two films received the festival’s Special Jury Award.
The two award-winning films were:
“Mirage” (Sarab) — directed by Javad Pourheidari
“Ten Villages” (Dah Koureh) — directed by Rahim Fakhteh Noushanagh
At the festival, the main award was presented to a film from Spain, while five films received Special Jury Mentions. Among those five films were three from India and two from Iran, both represented by the Independent Short Film Support Center.
It is worth noting that after India, Iran had the largest number of films selected for the festival, with the majority of those entries represented by the Independent Short Film Support Center.
The festival’s name is an acronym for “Haiku Amateur Little Film.” “Haiku,” the traditional Japanese poetic form, is used here to signify any concise form of aesthetic creativity. The term “Amateur” refers to films made without the intention of financial profit.
The alternative meaning of “amateur,” implying a lack of professional quality, does not apply in this context. The word “Little” refers simply to the short running time of the films.
The festival is dedicated to amateur narrative and animated short films with a duration of less than five minutes.
