Among the films submitted by the Independent Short Film Support Center to the 13th KAN International Amateur Film Festival in Poland, the short documentary Agha Seyed’s Daughters, directed by Fatemeh Heydari, has been selected for the competition section dedicated to amateur and independent films.
The documentary portrays the daily lives of nomadic girls who spend the warm season in the vicinity of the village of Saraqa Seyed, located in Lorestan Province.
The 13th KAN International Film Festival is organized in three sections:
Amateur and Independent Competition Section
This section is open to films financed by the filmmakers themselves and produced outside the professional film industry. Eligible works must be low-budget productions made without the support of investors, producers, or institutional funding.
Art Films Section
This category features artistic films created independently of commercial interests, advertising considerations, or market-driven objectives, and produced with limited financial resources.
Special Section
Dedicated to film schools, both public and private, this section accepts films produced under the supervision and support of educational filmmaking institutions.
The festival is scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 April 2012.
